An Update From Levi Lowrey

I hope that this finds you well. The past few months have been interesting. Matt Mangano is still working hard on mixing the new album. We have been touring as a band (mostly in St. Louis), and have had a great time meeting lots of new folks. My days at home have been spent building guitars. I’ve partnered up with Jolene Guitars and we are hard at work on building a “Levi Lowrey,” model. Mine should be done soon and I can’t wait to have it out on the road. We will be launching this line of acoustics VERY soon. So please stay tuned to all social media outlets for information on how you can purchase one of these guitars. I’m so proud of how they are turning out. The guys at Jolene have been working extremely hard on these 100% handmade pieces of art.

As always, I look forward to seeing y’all on the road.

Ron Kimble

Ron Kimble is a national treasure, in my humble opinion. Go watch one of his sets, and if he doesn’t evoke an emotional response from you, then you have no soul. I have been wanting to record with Ron for over a year now. I finally got a little bit of good news. Last night Ron agreed to let me come and record some of his originals. Most of you know that I’m working on Brother Shine’s album at the moment….well Ron Kimble’s will be my next project.

So here it is. The grand finale of, “Songs You Need To Hear By People You Need To Know,” is a recording of Mr. Kimble doing his own song. There is no way that I can do this better than what you’re about to hear. I can’t wait for your life to be changed……, just the way that mine was the first time I heard this Georgia storyteller pour his heart out. And I can’t wait to get started on his album.

Fear not. There will be more installments of songs you need to hear. This is just the conclusion of the first chapter.

Butch Walker
“State Line”

I never got to see the Marvelous 3 live, so when my friends and bandmates Nathan and Daniel McGill found out that Butch Walker was playing at the Cotton Club in Atlanta it was a no brainer. They kidnapped me. I couldn’t hear anything for two days, except a constant ringing. I have been a big fan ever since. It was that night, though, when I realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life as a performer. I am nowhere near his level, but I try to connect with an audience the way that Butch does every time that I play.

This is another selfish pick. Butch has a very loyal following, but i just couldn’t resist. So here ya go. This was a hidden track on Butch’s record entitled, “Letters.”
